Twitter has started rolling out Super Follows, a new feature that allows users to charge users for subscriber content.

Creators can only post their tweets to reach high profile fans. Tweets only appear in the timeline of those followers.

The feature was announced in February and is currently only available in the platform's iOS app. Restricted to the test audience in the United States who have applied for the test.

IOS users in the US and Canada can follow the Super Follow account in the first test group.

Paid subscribers will get a special Premium Follower badge to distinguish them from non-paying subscribers. The badge appears in the reply and increases subscribers' ability to directly interact with the accounts they want to support.

For accounts that have Super Follow enabled, this option will appear as a highlighted button on the account page.

The platform plans to roll out the feature in more countries/regions via iOS over the next few weeks, and has announced that it will soon be available on Android and the web.

Super Follows users can charge $2.99, $4.99, or $9.99 per month and payments are processed through Stripe.

The platform said that after deducting third-party fees, users can receive up to 97% of subscription income, and the lifetime income limit for all monetized Twitter products is $50,000.

After reaching this limit, users can earn up to 80% of their income after deducting third-party fees.

People without premium subscribers can request a queue under the Monetization tab of the platform app.

The platform has recently explored various monetization strategies for content creators. Including a reminder function, a chargeable language area, a shopping area, and a newsletter subscription button.

Twitter has announced that it will add Super Follows newsletters, anonymous subscriptions, exclusive audio rooms, and Patreon-like subscription plans.
