General Motors teases the electric GMC Sierra Denali

General Motors has announced that the full-size GMC Sierra Denali pickup will be GMC's next electric vehicle after the Hummer EV.

The automaker announces the first image of an upcoming electric vehicle that looks like an electric Hummer truck - only the front panel can be seen.

The square front of the truck has an L-shaped headlight and an illuminated logo in the center. The massive gasoline equivalent grille is now lighter and shows that there is no internal combustion engine under the hood that needs cooling.

Looks like we could get some kind of lighting system that can indicate when the car is charging, like an electric Hummer.

Otherwise there are very few details. The electrified Sierra is only available on popular GMC Denali models and runs on the GMC Battery Electric Vehicle platform. It is assembled at GM's plants in Detroit and Hamtrack, Michigan Zero.

The truck will be shown next year. But it may not go into production until early 2023, just like the electric Chevrolet Silverado.

The electric Chevrolet Silverado will make its debut at the 2022 CES Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas on January 5th.

Once launched, one of the company's main plans will be to invest $35 billion in electric vehicles, and it will also be the automaker's first electric truck for the automaker's brand.

But when electrified Chevrolet Silverado and electrified GMC Sierra Denali are on the market, the market can be a bit crowded.

The GMC truck from General Motors is equipped with an electric motor

The Rivian R1T, Ford F-150 Lightning, and Tesla Cybertruck are expected to attract more customers in 2022.

General Motors' production of electric trucks is behind the F-150 Lightning, which is scheduled to begin in spring 2022. Ford recently suspended orders for the F-150 Lightning after placing nearly 200,000 orders.

The Sierra is one of the most popular GMC trucks. Revenue is set to grow 40% annually in the second quarter of 2021.

It's also one of the auto industry's biggest and most dangerous trucks. It has a raised hood and a square frame that increases the front blind area of the car.

Larger trucks mean pedestrians are more vulnerable to fatal blows. The height also means that the victim is more likely to fall under a truck moving at high speed rather than hit the hood.
