| The ProArt Keyboard KD300 comes in a single finish. |
Following its initial unveiling at CES 2026, Asus has officially launched the ProArt Keyboard KD300, a new compact and premium wireless keyboard now available in China. Designed to complement the company's existing ProArt range of monitors and components for creative professionals, this low-profile keyboard offers a distinct alternative to popular office-focused models like the Logitech MX Keys Mini.
Sleek Design Meets Functional Compactness
The ProArt Keyboard KD300 adopts a space-saving 65% layout, stripping away the numpad to prioritize desk space and a cleaner aesthetic. Its housing measures a mere 26.8 mm in height, contributing to its slim, minimalist profile. True to the ProArt series' design language, the keyboard features a high-end appearance that blends seamlessly into a professional creative studio or office environment.
Engineered for Typing: Optical Switches and Silencing
At its core, the KD300 is equipped with Asus' proprietary RX Red Low-Profile optical switches. These switches are engineered for speed and consistency, featuring a short 1.0 mm actuation point and a decisive 55 g tactile feedback at the end of each keystroke. The optical mechanism allows for rapid signal registration, while the low-profile design reduces finger movement.
To ensure a pleasant acoustic experience, Asus has integrated silicone dampening pads within the chassis. This design choice is intended to minimize the hollow echoes and metallic pinging that can sometimes plague mechanical keyboards, resulting in a quieter, more refined typing sound.
Smart Controls and Multi-Device Connectivity
One of the standout features is the integrated touch panel located on the rear edge of the keyboard. This intuitive control surface allows users to quickly adjust keyboard lighting effects or manage media playback without needing to memorize complex function key combinations. These controls, along with other settings, can be fully customized through Asus' Gear Link software.
In terms of connectivity, the ProArt Keyboard KD300 is highly versatile. It supports three connection modes: Bluetooth, low-latency 2.4 GHz wireless via a USB dongle, and a wired USB connection for charging and data. Users can pair the keyboard with up to five devices simultaneously and switch between them with ease, making it ideal for workflows involving a desktop, laptop, and tablet.
Long Battery Life and Availability
Asus has prioritized longevity with the KD300. The built-in high-capacity battery is rated for up to 16 months of use on a single charge with the backlighting turned off. Even with RGB lighting enabled at full brightness, users can expect around 100 days of typical use.
The ProArt Keyboard KD300 is currently listed on JD.com in China with a price tag of CNY 999 (approximately $145 USD) . While global pricing and availability have not been officially confirmed, Asus has previously stated that international availability is planned.
