New Delhi, March 28 — Tecno has officially expanded its popular Spark lineup in India with the launch of the Tecno Spark 50 5G, a budget-friendly smartphone that turns heads with a design reminiscent of Google’s flagship Pixel 10 while packing a massive battery and military-grade durability.
At first glance, the Spark 50 5G appears to borrow a page from Google’s playbook. The rear panel features a horizontal pill-shaped camera island crafted from 6-series aluminum—a design language that made the Pixel 10 (currently available for $549 on Amazon) an instant icon when it launched last year. Tecno is bringing that premium aesthetic to the budget segment without compromising on structural integrity.
Camera and Performance
For photography, the device opts for a clean setup. It houses a single 50 MP primary camera with an f/1.85 aperture accompanied by an LED flash. Tecno has streamlined the lens arrangement, focusing on a high-resolution main shooter rather than cluttering the back with low-quality auxiliary sensors.
Selfie enthusiasts will find an 8 MP front-facing camera tucked into the display for video calls and social media content.
In a significant shift for the Spark series, Tecno has moved away from Unisoc processors. The Spark 50 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset, a capable 5G-enabled processor aimed at delivering smooth daily performance. It is paired with up to 6 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128 GB of UFS 2.2 storage. However, prospective buyers should note that there is no microSD card slot, so storage expansion is not an option.

Tecno has positioned the Spark 50 5G aggressively in the Indian market. The base variant with 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage is priced at INR 16,999 ($179.63) , while the higher 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage variant will retail for INR 18,999 ($200.77) .
Buyers will have four color options to choose from: fantasy purple, ink black, mint green, and champagne gold.
