It seems Casio just can’t keep a secret these days. The watch world has been buzzing ever since the upcoming 2500 series made a brief, mysterious appearance on Casio’s official website earlier this month before being swiftly yanked offline. Fortunately for us, the internet never forgets, and eager fans managed to screenshot the juicy details before they vanished.
The upcoming GMC-2500 and GAC-2500 lineup, slated for a November release, is already causing quite a stir. The design has earned the cheeky nickname “CasioNaut” among G-Shock enthusiasts, thanks to its undeniable resemblance to the legendary Patek Philippe Nautilus. Now, a fresh leak appears to confirm US pricing and additional features straight from what looks like official marketing material.
The Pricing Breakdown
The latest intel comes courtesy of the ever-reliable G-Shock insider @geesgshock on Instagram, who shared the pricing structure for the GAC-2500, GMC-2500, and the premium full-metal GMC-2500D models.
Starting at the entry level, the resin-based GAC-2500 will reportedly retail for $145. It’s set to launch in four vibrant colorways:
- GAC-2500-1A (Black)
- GAC-2500-3A (Olive Green)
- GAC-2500-7A (White)
- GAC-2500-9A (Yellow)
Moving up the ladder, the GMC-2500 sits comfortably in the middle, blending a stainless steel bezel with a resin band. This hybrid model is tipped to cost between $280 and $300 in the US. Buyers will have three variants to choose from:
- GMC-2500-1A (Black dial with silver bezel and black resin band) — $280
- GMC-2500-1A8 (Silver dial with silver bezel and black resin band) — $280
- GMC-2500G-9A (Gold dial with gold IP bezel and black resin band) — $300
Finally, at the top of the food chain sits the GMC-2500D, which pairs a stainless steel case with a matching bracelet for a more luxurious feel. This model is expected to retail for $350 and will be available in two dial options:
- GMC-2500D-1A (Black)
- GMC-2500D-1A2 (Blue)
Design and New Technology
The leaked marketing copy also gives us a deeper look into Casio’s design philosophy for this series. The new watches reinterpret the iconic original DW-5000C’s design through a fully analog layout. This includes a sophisticated small-seconds subdial, a three-segment rolling date display, and dimensional hour markers that add depth to the face.

Perhaps the most intriguing technical update is the new shock-release hand mechanism. Instead of being fixed directly to a shaft, the minute hand is held magnetically. This allows it to shift under impact and then snap back to its correct position, adding a layer of durability to the analog movement.
Casio also notes that the small seconds hand can be stopped using a dedicated sleep function to help reduce power consumption.
Other notable specs include 200-meter water resistance, a 30-minute stopwatch, a full auto-calendar, LED lighting, and an accuracy rating of ±15 seconds per month.
