The Motorola Signature 27, which succeeds the Signature that launched back in January 2026, appeared in an official teaser on Motorola's X account showing off its rear design for the first time.
The timing of this reveal isn't random—Motorola is gearing up for a September 22 unveiling at the Snapdragon Summit, and the teaser suggests the company has something distinctive in store. The official Motorola post showcases an olive-green finish that immediately stands out from the typical flagship crowd.

A Camera Module That Breaks the Mold
What's most striking about the Signature 27's design is its camera arrangement. Rather than following the industry-standard vertical bar or grid layout that most premium phones adopt—including the original Signature—Motorola has opted for an asymmetric cluster. It's a bold choice that gives the phone a unique visual identity.
The module houses four cameras plus a flash unit. According to details from earlier teasers, this array likely includes an ultrawide camera, a massive 200 MP main sensor (reportedly Sony's LYTIA LYT-901 with a 1/1.12-inch size and 0.7 μm pixels), a standard telephoto lens, and a periscope telephoto camera. The fifth ring in the cluster appears to be the flash.
Dual-telephoto setups are usually found only on "ultra-class" flagships, so Motorola is clearly aiming high with this camera system. If the specs hold up, the Signature 27 could genuinely compete with the best camera phones on the market.
Bang & Olufsen Partnership Confirmed
In a separate teaser, Motorola confirmed something else exciting: a new audio partnership with Bang & Olufsen. The announcement post reveals that "Audio by Bang & Olufsen" branding will appear on Motorola's premium devices, with a large circular speaker unit visible near the camera module on the Signature 27.
This marks a significant shift from the original Signature, which featured Bose-tuned speakers. The move to B&O suggests Motorola is serious about elevating the audio experience on its flagship lineup.

GrapheneOS Support Could Be a Game-Changer
Perhaps the most intriguing aspect of the Signature 27 isn't about hardware at all. GrapheneOS, the privacy-focused Android distribution, has indicated that its first supported Motorola device will be the successor to the Motorola Signature. According to GrapheneOS, they plan to start with high-end devices since those are the first to meet their strict security requirements.
If the Signature 27 turns out to be that device, it would become the first non-Pixel phone to officially support GrapheneOS—a pretty significant milestone for privacy-conscious users who've been limited to Google's hardware until now.
