According to the official teaser shared on Weibo, the upcoming Pro models will retain one of Xiaomi's most distinctive features: the secondary screen on the back. However, it looks like the design team has been tweaking the formula. The bezels surrounding that rear display appear slightly narrower than what we saw on the Xiaomi 17 Pro, giving the phone a sleeker, more premium appearance.
Design Tweaks and a Mysterious New Button
The changes aren't just cosmetic. In a slight branding shuffle, the iconic Leica logo has been repositioned to the right side of the back panel. More intriguingly, the teaser reveals an additional physical button on the side of the device. While Xiaomi hasn't officially confirmed its function, recent industry leaks suggest this is an "AI button." If true, it would likely offer functionality similar to the Essential Key found on recent Nothing phones, such as the Nothing Phone 3 (16/512GB), which is currently available on Amazon for $799. This button is expected to serve as a quick shortcut for AI-powered tasks and voice assistants.
Massive Battery and Camera Upgrades
Beyond the design, the rumor mill is churning with excitement over the Xiaomi 18 Pro's internal specs. Reports suggest that Xiaomi is planning a massive battery upgrade, potentially packing an 8,000mAh cell. That would be a significant jump from the 7,500mAh battery found in the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max.
