Facebook gets the famous GIPHY service

Facebook announced Friday that it has acquired GIPHY, an animated GIF creation and sharing service, an initiative to add entertainment to its apps.

The social media giant said in a post: GIPHY will join the Instagram service team. She added: The service makes daily conversations more entertaining, so she plans to merge Giphy's GIF library with Instagram and other apps so that users can find the best way to express themselves.

Although Facebook did not disclose the financial details of the transaction, the Axios report says the amount of the transaction may be around $ 400 million.

According to Facebook, 50% of the traffic GIPHY watches comes from the Facebook app family, and the other half comes from Instagram only.

The company said it has used the GIPHY Service API software development Instagram, Facebook, Messenger and WhatsApp over the years. After the hack, the service will continue to run its library where users can download their GIFs as well as developers and APIs. Partners can still access the service interface itself.
