Oxford: Video games can be beneficial for your mental well-being

An Oxford University study suggests that playing video games may benefit your mental health, as this was the first time university academics had used real game data.

The study found that people who played video games for a long time were happier than people who had never played video games.

This makes people more skeptical that video games can harm mental health.

This study is one of the first to use real-time game data, in which game developers share anonymous data about how long each participant has played.

These recordings were then linked to a poll in which players answered questions about happiness. A total of 3,274 players aged 18 years and over participated.

Due to the online nature of the game, the Oxford University team was able to link the psychological test to the actual player's playing time.

Previous research tends to focus on self-reported game time, and research has shown that the relationship between game time and reality is low.
