Qualcomm has confirmed that it has acquired a license to supply Huawei with the chips

It was recently reported that the company obtained a license to supply chips to Huawei due to US sanctions that prevent the company from supplying unlicensed chips to Chinese companies.

A few days ago, it was reported that Qualcomm had obtained a license from the United States to supply Huawei with the chips. However, the latest report indicates that Qualcomm cannot supply all the chips to the company. When it comes to smartphone chips, the company cannot offer chips over 4G.

Qualcomm has officially confirmed the reports, according to reports from The Daily Business News. A company spokesperson said, "We have received Huawei licenses for some products, including some 4G products."

Qualcomm has yet to announce when it will start supplying 5G products to Huawei. However, this should not be currently possible. Earlier this week, it was announced that Qualcomm has obtained a license to supply the company. The famous Wall Street investment bank KeyBanc announced earlier this week that Qualcomm has obtained an export license to provide the company with 4G chips.

On July 30, Qualcomm announced that it has entered into a patent license agreement with Huawei. Qualcomm will receive a one-time patent license fee of $ 1.8 billion.

In addition to Qualcomm, other companies such as Intel, AMD and Skyworks, as well as several other chip makers, have confirmed that they have obtained licenses for shipping from Huawei.

Qualcomm's CEO said before releasing its financial report on November 5 that the company had applied to the US government for a license to sell chips to Huawei but had not received a response.

Sources close to Huawei said Qualcomm's license to supply products to Chinese companies should alleviate the problem of supplying chips to the company's high-end (P) and Mate (dead) phones.

Huawei Chairman Qiao Ping announced in a public speech that the company will use Qualcomm chips if the United States allows it. It now appears that the US is licensing companies to supply Chinese companies, but the condition is that 5G chips must be included.
