Sony announces the Alpha 1 camera for $ 6,500

Sony has released Sony Alpha 1, which is a new full-screen main camera with great features.

Thanks to a new 50MP Exmor RS CMOS sensor and an advanced Bionz XR processor, recording speeds of up to 30fps, 8K videos at 30fps, and 4K videos at 120fps can be achieved.

Although the price is much higher, it can handle Canon R5 cameras without any problem.

Perhaps the main advantage of the Sony Alpha 1 is its incredible speed, as the electronic shutter allows 50.1 megapixel photos to be captured at 30 frames per second while autofocus and exposure are automatic.

At these speeds, you can shoot up to 155 compressed RAW files or 165 JPEGs in full screen before the buffer is full and use a mechanical shutter to reduce the speed to 10fps. However, due to the high-resolution sensor, this is always an excellent choice.

The world's first 240Hz OLED electronic viewfinder with 9.44 million dots and a field of view 0.90 times lets you view these images without interruption.

Meanwhile, Sony Alpha 1 has a standard ISO sensitivity range of ISO 100-32000, which can be expanded to ISO 50-102400 so that it performs well in low light.

This is possible because the backlit sensor structure lens has no gaps on the slide and the sealed glass is covered with AR.

It can also improve color reproduction and offer up to 15 degrees dynamic range. If 50MP isn't enough, you can use Sony's Pixel Shift multi-shot function to combine up to 16 single photos into a single 199MP photo.

If you like video, you can use the full width of the sensor to record 8K video internally at 30 fps and 30 fps. Also, when shooting 4K at 60 fps, the full width of the sensor can be used, and the autofocus mode can be used in all videos.

The camera has two UHS II SD card slots, two CFexpress card slots, plus a full HDMI connection, microphone and headphone jack, USB 3.2 connectivity, Gigabit Ethernet connectivity, plus a 3.0 ”LCD screen on the back. The screen supports touch focus and touch tracking.

Sony promises to record 8K video at 30 fps or 4K at 60 fps for up to 30 minutes without overheating.

The camera's initial asking price is only $ 6,498 for the body, which is $ 3,000 more than the price of the Canon EOS R5. Sony Alpha 1 is now Sony's flagship product, especially for professional photographers and videographers, and is expected to go on sale. It will ship on February 25 and will be available to consumers in March.
