Nvidia uses CGI technology to deceive viewers

The pandemic has begun and companies are advertising and even launching their products through virtual conferences broadcast on the Internet. In this case, the company has also found a valuable opportunity to showcase its skills in the video industry, and Nvidia is no exception.

Compared to other companies, Apple offers more video conferencing. This is due to its smooth transition between scenes, shooting quality and production. However, at the GTC meeting in April last year, Nvidia approached this topic differently.

The American giant announced that part of the GTC program has been completely developed using CGI technology. These are the techniques used in films, especially science fiction films.

Using CGI technology from Nvidia

CGI technology is used to create the entire scene using a powerful computer. CGI is an acronym for Computer Generated Images.

At the recent Nvidia conference there was a scene from CEO Huang Renxun. In this scene, Huang was talking about the company's technology, and then he and the people around him disappeared.

Thanks to documentation released by the company, we've discovered that this 14-second scene is entirely CGI-based. This includes not only the effects of the disappearance, but also other factors such as the CEO himself and his facial movements.

The NVIDIA engineering and design team demonstrated how to make this video. It's based on hundreds of photos of the CEO himself, his surroundings, and his kitchen.

More than 16,000 different elements were used in the design of the 3D model. In addition to using a large number of professional digital SLR cameras to take various pictures of the company's president. Literally uses a full DSLR charger to take enough pictures.

The team then relied on a number of artificial intelligence techniques to do the work. Nvidia's efforts succeeded in deceiving the public.

While the scenes of Huang's disappearance and the disappearance of the environment use some expected CGI techniques or graphics effects, no one wants to emulate their appearance in editing. There is no doubt that this feat from NVIDIA showed us advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and pervasive counterfeiting.
