The number of smart watch shipments reached 25.4 million, an increase of 37.9% over the previous year, of which watches currently account for 62% of the global shipments of wearable straps.

The global wearable shoelaces market grew 5.6% year-over-year with 40.9 million shipments in the second quarter of 2021.

The catastrophic decline that began in the last quarter of 2020 will continue into the second quarter of 2021.

Sales volume decreased by 23.8% to 15.5 million units. But the decline in bracelets has been offset by the growth of smartwatches.

Watch deliveries surpassed those of watch straps for the first time in the last quarter of 2020 and this trend has continued ever since.

To date, watches have accounted for more than 60% of total wearable belt shipments for three consecutive quarters.

Canalys expects watches to become the main growth driver in the wearable bracelet category in the coming years.

Xiaomi overtook Apple and became the largest seller of wearable bracelets in the second quarter of 2021.

The introduction of Mi Smart Band 6 has increased the performance of Mi. Although India, one of the strongholds of Xiaomi, was not on the list of global firsts.

Huawei ranks third and mostly depends on China for a living.

"Xiaomi made a wise decision to speed up the launch of the Mi Band 6, a more attractive device than its predecessor," Canalys said.

In addition, Xiaomi quickly entered the watch industry and helped increase shipments by 1.3 million units this quarter.

Apple continues to dominate the global watch market and made significant progress in the second quarter of 2021 with a market share of 31.1%.
