Microsoft Edge arrives on Xbox

Microsoft has released a new Xbox Dashboard that includes an updated version of the Microsoft Edge browser and the September platform update.

After a six-month testing phase, the Chromium version of Microsoft Edge is now available for all existing Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X platforms.

Microsoft Edge is the default browser on Xbox One. But it is not the latest version of Chromium that supports features like Google Stadia Play.

Microsoft wrote that it promises to provide a fast, secure, and modern browsing experience right from the platform. New features allow platform owners to stream Google Stadia games, access the Discord platform over the network, and more.

The Xbox browser version looks almost identical to the version available on Windows or Mac computers. It even includes features like vertical tabs and groups.

Like browser settings on PC and mobile devices, the console version syncs all settings, bookmarks, bookmarks, and web history.

The only really missing feature seems to be additional features. Therefore, you cannot currently use an ad blocker nor switch to developer mode to change the user agent channel or access to the platform.

The browser also supports mouse and keyboard, so you can use your keyboard and mouse or Xbox console to access Word, Excel, or even Google Stadia games online.

Although there is no Discord app for this platform. However, you can use this new browser version to access the web version.

Discord allows you to participate in voice calls and participate in text channel conversations. But microphone support is not available.

The new browser is a huge improvement over the browsers that were previously available on Microsoft's gaming platform. You can even use it to access Steam PC games or web games like Krunker or Quake JS.

NVIDIA continues to block access to the GeForce Now streaming service through Microsoft browsers.

Nvidia said in April that it was considering browser support in the future. It does not provide a clear reason why the browser continues to be blocked normally.
