Samsung’s next flagship tablets have surfaced in a major new leak, and it looks like the company is preparing a two-model lineup for 2026. According to a detailed report from WinFuture, the Galaxy Tab S12+ and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra will replace the Galaxy Tab S11 series, with Samsung reportedly dropping the standard Galaxy Tab S12 in favour of bringing back the “Plus” model.
The information is said to come from official data sheets, even though Samsung has not published the full specifications itself. Both tablets have also appeared in earlier certifications in Wi-Fi and cellular versions, adding weight to the idea that a launch is getting closer.
A familiar flagship strategy for 2026
Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab S11 and Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra in 2025. For 2026, the rumoured plan is to offer the Galaxy Tab S12+ and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra as the new flagship pair. That means there may be no regular Galaxy Tab S12, at least not in the same lineup.
The Galaxy Tab S12+ is expected to feature a 12.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 2800 x 1752 resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra will reportedly step up to a larger 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a 2960 x 1848 resolution and the same 120 Hz refresh rate.
Under the hood, both tablets are said to use MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chip. That matches an earlier Geekbench listing for the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, which also pointed to the same processor. If accurate, it would continue Samsung’s recent willingness to use MediaTek silicon in its high-end tablets.
Memory, storage, and cameras
The Galaxy Tab S12+ is expected to come with 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is also tipped to offer 12GB of RAM with 256GB or 512GB of storage, plus an additional 16GB RAM and 1TB storage option. Both tablets are reportedly set to support microSD cards with up to 2TB of extra space.
Camera hardware will differ between the two models. The Galaxy Tab S12+ is expected to have a 13MP rear camera and a 12MP front camera. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra will reportedly add an 8MP ultrawide camera alongside its 13MP main rear sensor, while keeping the 12MP front camera. Both front cameras are said to have a wide field of view, and video recording should support up to 4K at 60 fps.
Battery, speakers, and build quality
Battery capacity is one of the clearer upgrades in the leak. The Galaxy Tab S12+ is expected to pack a 10,600mAh battery, up from the 10,090mAh cell in the Galaxy Tab S10+ — which is still currently available on Amazon. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is tipped to use an 11,600mAh battery, matching the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra. Both tablets are reportedly capable of 45W wired charging.
There are some differences in audio as well. The Galaxy Tab S12+ is expected to have two stereo speakers, compared with four speakers on the Galaxy Tab S10+. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is expected to keep four speakers, matching the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra. Both models are said to feature aluminium bodies with IP68 water and dust resistance.
In terms of size, the Galaxy Tab S12+ is expected to weigh 555 grams, making it slightly lighter than the 571-gram Wi-Fi version of the Galaxy Tab S10+. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is expected to weigh 693 grams, almost identical to the 692-gram Wi-Fi version of the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra. The Ultra is also said to measure just 5.1mm thick, matching its predecessor.
Software, S Pen, and connectivity
Both tablets are expected to run Android 17 with Samsung’s One UI 9.0. The Galaxy Tab S12+ is also reported to include an S Pen, which would make sense for Samsung’s Plus-sized tablet. Wi-Fi and 5G versions are expected for both models, and the 5G variants are reportedly set to cost €200 more than their Wi-Fi counterparts.
Pricing and release date
European pricing for the leak starts at €1,299, or roughly $1,491, for the Galaxy Tab S12+ with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is reportedly priced from €1,539, about $1,768, with the same memory and storage configuration. These figures have not been officially confirmed by Samsung, so they should be treated as rumour for now.
WinFuture reports that the Galaxy Tab S12+ and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra will launch on October 7, 2026. Samsung has only confirmed that the Galaxy Tab S12 series is planned for the second half of 2026, so the exact date remains unverified.
If the leak is accurate, Samsung’s next tablets will focus on large displays, premium build quality, and MediaTek performance rather than a major design overhaul. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra looks like a modest evolution of the Tab S11 Ultra, while the Galaxy Tab S12+ could appeal to users who want a big-screen Samsung tablet without going all the way to the Ultra model. More details should become clear as Samsung gets closer to launch.
