Motorola Moto G47 Power Leaks With Massive 6,790 mAh Battery and 5 Years of Security Updates

The Moto G47 pictured here will soon get a sister model with bigger battery.

The upcoming mid-ranger has surfaced in the EU's EPREL database, revealing a battery upgrade of nearly 30 percent over the standard Moto G47 — and a surprisingly long software support commitment.

Motorola appears to be preparing a beefed-up version of its budget-friendly Moto G47, and the EU's official energy labelling database has spilled the beans ahead of launch. The Motorola Moto G47 Power (model number XT2625-15) was recently spotted in the EPREL database, with the listing indicating the phone was placed on the market on October 15, 2026 — suggesting an official announcement is just days away.

A Battery That Just Keeps Going

The headline upgrade here is undoubtedly the battery. While the standard Motorola Moto G47 (currently around $195 on Amazon) ships with a 5,200 mAh cell, the Power variant bumps that up to a hefty 6,790 mAh — roughly 30 percent more energy storage. According to the EPREL listing, the phone delivers a battery endurance rating of 78 hours and 19 minutes per cycle.

Charging is handled via USB-C at up to 33 watts, which should be enough to top up that large battery reasonably quickly. Perhaps more impressively, Motorola claims the cell is rated for 1,200 charging cycles before its remaining capacity drops below 80 percent — a solid longevity figure for a mid-range device.

Durability and Software Support

The Moto G47 Power carries an IP64 rating, meaning it's protected against rain and splashes but isn't fully waterproof. However, Motorola says the phone survived 180 drops in internal testing without damage, which should offer some peace of mind for clumsy users.

On the software side, Motorola is promising at least five years of security updates — a commitment that's becoming increasingly common in the budget segment but is still noteworthy at this price point. The battery itself isn't user-replaceable, though the EPREL listing gives the device a repairability rating of "B" (with an index score of 3.38), suggesting repairs shouldn't be overly complicated. A 36-month commercial guarantee is also listed.

What Else to Expect

Details beyond the battery and durability are scarce, but the standard Moto G47 gives us a good idea of what to expect. That model features a 6.67-inch 120 Hz IPS display with 720p+ resolution, a 108 MP main camera, an 8 MP selfie shooter, and a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset. The Power variant will likely carry over most of these specs, with the battery being the headline differentiator.

The EPREL listing also notes a screen scratch resistance of 4 on the Mohs hardness scale — modest, but typical for budget phones.

Pricing and Availability

Motorola hasn't officially announced the Moto G47 Power yet, so pricing and a precise release date remain under wraps. Given that the standard Moto G47 launched at around $195, we'd expect the Power model to land somewhere in the $220–$250 range. With the EPREL listing already live and a market date of October 15, an official reveal should be imminent.

We'll keep an eye on Motorola's channels for the formal announcement. In the meantime, the standard Moto G47 remains a solid budget option — and if the Power model delivers on its leaked promise, it could be one of the more interesting battery-focused mid-rangers of the year.
