Over 250 million people use Snapchat's built-in map to find out where their friends are in the world.

The map interface was recently updated to the main app tab, and the company has now added a new feature that can display the popular places you want to visit.

The platform hopes to boost its business discovery with a new element called “My Favorite Place” in Snap Map. Popular stores and places you've visited are highlighted in the map view.

Snap Map users will also start seeing lists of places they have been flagged or favorited in previous posts, such as: restaurants.

You can find a business group on the map using three different categories of listings. These are the places you like your Snap friends, the places you like, and the places you've visited.

The Popular tab at the bottom center of the Snapchat map shows suggestions for places to visit. This depends on factors such as your current location, what your friends are doing on the map, and the types of places you've saved as favorites.

A company spokesperson said: “This new algorithm marks our famous day that Snap Map is a highly customized discovery platform and the first of its kind on Snapchat.

With these recent additions and updates, such as integration with restaurant review sites The Infatuation and Ticketmaster, the platform has transformed its map into a unique way to explore the world around them.
